Are we getting more stupid? At least that was the headline of an article I read today, actually browsed. Here it is if you are interested. Amazingly, without reading the article, I knew the answer – a resounding “YES.” My first thought was that “more stupid” wasn’t correct and that “stupider” was incorrect but I looked it up and it actually is correct. So I stand corrected. Maybe this article really hit closer to home than I had imagined. Boy, it’s a shocker when you find out you are dumb. I guess if you’re too slow then you probably don’t even know so I wouldn’t quite classify myself with the Banjo Boy from Deliverance yet.
This whole day has been flooded with the theme of idiocy. For some reason I woke up this morning thinking about one friend calling another friend dumb, not that that’s anything new. The fact that someone would skip work to go to the library does stand out in my mind as being particularly stupid. I don’t know what was going through her mind with rent to pay. Probably the same thing as when she slipped and did the splits in the middle of the street. That was a rough year. Fortunately, we were still in our 20′s so there was room for error – a lot of it. When you’re young you can get away with things just by the simple fact that you are young.
However, one thing you can’t get away with at any age is a face tattoo, especially a Romney face tattoo. Some 30 year old wrestler from Indiana found out the hard way. Here’s a pic. You know you wanna look. That has to be the most half baked, dimwitted idea I have ever come across. Apparently he was paid to do it by people who chipped in on ebay. Were there no people in his life to tell him this was not a good idea? I can’t imagine any female being turned on by a face tattoo, especially one symbolizing a failed presidential candidate. For us women, failure is not a turn-on in any way, shape or form. Please make a note of it.
It boggles the mind how people enable and encourage the weak-minded. Such is the case with that woman a few years ago who wanted to get up to 1000 lbs and she was only at 700 and people were donating money online to pay her food bill. She was in a motorized scooter so as to avoid burning any extra calories and her daughter was loading it up with junk food. This was terribly sad. Her daughter could have been motherless if she dropped dead. I think the woman has finally come to her senses and decided to get healthy. I would hope my friends or family would step in the minute I decided to make any life altering decisions such as this. I think they would instead of cheering me on. At least hope 
The first thing I noticed when I saw that article was how they actually correctly used ‘more stupid’ instead of the way I always hear it in Louisiana-stupider. lol Going with the theme of idiocy, I think anybody wanting to secede and divide this nation even more than what it already is, is one of the stupidest things I ever did hear of.
Now they’re trying to get a recount going. Part of me says we should be gracious in defeat and let it go but the other half says to fight.
