Strange Things are Afoot

I see that people really enjoyed my creepy tales so I’m going to do some more of the same. People seem to respond to my ghost stories and stories with an adult rated theme. Give the people what they want, I say. Since I’m feeling ghoulish rather than steamy I will go in that direction. Allow me to reach pretty far back for some of these. It’s possible that I’ve already told them and forgot so I will tell them anyways. When I was about 9 or so, I was occupying myself with the family’s computer, which I did when my brother wasn’t using it. We had a vic 20 back then and it’s nothing like computers are today. It was just a bunch of pixelated bits that you programmed to do something on a little bitty screen. My brother seemed to be the pro. As I was sitting there typing with my henpecked stroke, I saw my brother walk into the room out of the corner of my eye. He always wore those long white knee socks that were popular in the early 80′s and I definitely knew it was him coming towards me. As I turned my head and opened my mouth to ask a question, there was nobody there. I suddenly remembered that I was by myself. This is one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. I wonder how close it would have gotten if I hadn’t turned my head.

The next story happened when I was very small, maybe 4 or 5. We had a German lady that took care of us when my mom was at work. We called her Foo Foo and I loved her very much, still do. I always felt like we had a special bond. We did puzzles together, colored, listened to Doris Day, made cookies, etc. She also bought me gifts and took me places. Strangely enough I don’t remember either of my siblings being around at all. It just seemed like it was just us all the time. Me and my sister shared a room at the time. She was still in a crib, which was in one corner and I had a twin bed in the opposite corner. I remember waking up one night and just laying there for a minute. As I looked towards the crib I saw my Foo Foo materialize right in front of my eyes. She was just standing there in her leisure suit like she looked everyday. This was in the 70′s, by the way. She had her hand on the crib and I could see through her but it was definitely her, no doubt about it. She just looked at me and smiled sweetly. Now, I loved her dearly but I was terrified. It did not take me any time to jump out of my bed and run into my parents’ bed where I stayed for the rest of the night. She is still alive so it’s not like I was being haunted. I get the feeling she was dreaming about me. There is just some information in this world that we are not privy to. That’s the only explanation I have.

This last one here comes from an old high school friend Garrett. Gosh, I can’t believe 20 years has passed, but I digress. His mother was very interesting to talk to. She was different than my mom because she acknowledged the supernatural which my mom refused to do. I had to get my fix elsewhere.  Garrett’s family moved every so often because his dad was one of the big bosses at Shoney’s, which was a popular restaurant chain back in the day. After they left Shreveport for greener pastures, they moved into a very old house. I don’t know how old it was or who owned it, I just know that it was old. One day Garrett’s mom was sitting at her kitchen table doing her nails when all of a sudden a girl in Victorian dress comes bounding out of the hallway. Garrett’s mom and the girl locked eyes. Both of them were stunned and just looked at each other in disbelief. Then the girl walked back down the hall into her own world. I wonder what would have happened if she would have spoken to the girl. While definitely eerie, this doesn’t seem like a haunting to me. To me this seems like a time slip or a parallel universe, which I think can happen sometimes. Almost like the Universe hiccuped and the rules of time and space were bent just for a moment :)
