Okay, I know I wasn’t going to talk too much about politics anymore. People are so sick and tired of the elections but I read a brilliant blog post by a smart, black Republican woman that seems to have her eyes open unlike so many. She did not vote for Obama simply because they shared a skin color and I applaud her for it. That would be the same as me voting for Speedy Gonzales just because he is Hispanic. You have to look at the content of character, nothing more. It is a highly recommended read. Here is the link if you are interested.
I am so proud of her for speaking up, knowing she could get the Stacy Dash treatment. The backlash was appalling, by the way. I agree so wholeheartedly with what she said that I could have written this blog myself if I was also a black conservative but I’m not so I can’t share her exact viewpoint. Like me, she didn’t feel like the Democrats lined up with her moral values as a Christian so she is now a registered Republican. I, myself, have thought about changing parties after the things I have seen going on with the Democrats the last 4 years. The only reason I haven’t is because the right wing nuts tend to scare me off. Somehow their voices are the loudest and it makes the whole party look stupid. I am not big on Sarah Palin so I certainly didn’t want to be lumped with her and I certainly don’t want to be compared to Anne Coulter, someone who lives to get people riled up. On the other hand, there is sharp-as-a-whip Condoleezza Rice. I have the utmost respect for her. If the Republican party was filled with Condis, would I change my party affiliation? You bet I would. Yesterday. Condi, you rock.
Gosh, I think I have another girl crush. I’ll add that to the list. That makes it Condi, Nigella and Cate Blanchett. All these women I totally admire and if I was a man I would definitely be bombarding them with flowers and trying to woo these ladies. Okay, now that this post has taken a strange turn and I’ve made myself look like some stalking lesbian, I will call it quits for the night. Til on the morrow
