Peepshow, Creepshow

With it being so close to Halloween, naturally my mind turns to things that goes bump in the night. Well, that could be any time of year, to be honest. Since I’m tired of telling my own stories, I’m going to share with you some of my best friend’s stories since they have a different point of view. We have been friends for almost 30 years so that gives me all access to her stories and anything else of hers I want to borrow except her animals or her husband. When we were kids I found her to be spoiled. She was the yougest and the youngest always is. I was the middle child and things were totally different with me but that’s not the point of the story. I just wanted to throw that in there.

Okay, let’s set the scene. Her parent’s house has 2 bathrooms, they still live there, that are adjoined and there is a door in between. I’m not quite sure why they decided on this when they built the house because that door usually stays locked 99% of the time. One day my friend Emma and her mom were getting cleaned up and dressed to go shopping. Emma was in one bathroom and her mom was in another taking a bath. So, my friend Emma is having a conversation with her mom, asking her if they can get new shoes, new this, new that, with positive responses. So I’m guessin’ my friend thought she hit the jackpot until she left the bathroom only to find out her mom was in the laundry room doing laundry and the bathroom was empty. That was back in the mid-80′s and to this day she swears up and down that someone was in the bathroom talking to her and saying yes to a new pair of shoes. It gives me the chills just thinking that a door was the only thing that stood between her and something that didn’t have a body.

If that doesn’t give you the chills, here is another one from Emma’s repertoire. About 10 year ago, we were both living in the same apartment complex. It was nice being so close to her though we have always been close no matter where we live. Anyways, she told me something had made an appearance in her room. She awoke during the night because she had to use the bathroom. As soon as Emma opened her eyes, she saw a figure peeking in the doorway, like it was seeing if she was awake or not. As soon as it noticed she was awake, it walked into the room and vanished halfway. She says it ways a tiny, shadowy figure and thinks it was her grandmother checking in on her. Her grandmother was a sweetheart but I still would not want a visit from her. This did not sit well with a friend of ours who lives there now and has to sleep in that room. In a related incident, Emma’s nephew got the grandmother’s chair and awoke to find her sitting in it one night. He wasn’t scared though because it was his great grandma. I’m sorry, but I would not have rolled over and went back to sleep, which is what he did. I would not have been able to sleep the rest of the night or a few nights after.

Lastly, I’m going to share this story, though I have no idea who wrote it. It was a comment left in response to a YouTube video. I can’t even remember the video. This was the only thing that stood out. The writer stated that she worked in a nursing home and she was tending to an elderly lady who was in her bed. The woman turned around and there stood a luminescent lady in her 20′s who was dressed in 40′s fashion. The young lady thanked the worker for taking good care of her elderly daughter then vanished. I thought that was heartwarming and it helps to know there are loved ones watching us. Well, I’m gonna end this one on a soft note. Please join me tomorrow. Peace
